I keep finding story notes / writing notes / ??? notes in my notebooks that are in my handwriting but are kind of gibberish. I know for a fact that I was not drunk at the time, and that my mnemonic devices apparently could use some work. zenzaan suggested that I go back to freewriting, but I doubt it'll help me much.

I'm very wary of amateur poetry, because I've seen that too easily it can lead to linguistic narcissism and other pretensions.
